“Innovative Leaders in Learning”

Menu

The Community Learning Network (CLN) supports the innovative learning leaders who are building Alberta’s vibrant learning communities. We provide and promote professional development,  training, customized support and networking opportunities to Alberta’s Community Adult Learning Programs. We work in close collaboration with our partners, funders and system stakeholders to achieve our vision, where Community Adult Learning  Programs are the hub for adult learning in every community. The CLN team includes five full-time staff dedicated to providing relevant and responsive support at a grassroots regional level to the more than 130 Community Adult Learning Programs throughout Alberta.

Originally founded in 1987 as the Company of Coordinators, a grassroots association of adult learning organizations supporting adult learning organizations, Alberta's Communtiy Adult Learning Councils took an early leadership role in providing and promoting relevant, quality lifelong learning opportunities to their communities. Over the years, CLN has continued to grow and evolve, and now supports more than 130 Community Adult Learning Programs across Alberta.

CLN is governed by a Board of Directors, made up of six to nine volunteers who are also Community Adult Learning Council Coordinators, Executive Directors, Board members and/or representatives of member learning organizations. Our office is based in Edmonton, Alberta.Community Learning Network is supported in our mission through funding from the Government of Alberta.
